Play Space Redevelopment Program

The Play Space Redevelopment Program helps the City renew and improve play spaces across Bayswater so they continue to meet the needs of our growing community.

Each year, the City reviews its Play Space Plan to identify which play spaces are due for renewal. The plan considers the condition of existing play spaces, nearby parks, local play opportunities and community feedback to help guide future upgrades.

The Play Space Plan is reviewed annually and includes a 10-year schedule of proposed renewals. The list of projects presented to Council may change over time to reflect community needs, site conditions and available funding.

The City has installed community exercise equipment at Claughton Reserve. The exercise equipment pod, featuring over seven different stations in one unit (for both static and dynamic exercise movements), will complement the existing play space area.

This compliments new play equipment and a fairy trail installed in 2021, and solar lighting installed along pathways earlier this year. The lighting will illuminate activity and play space areas including the boat ramp at the park. Five bollard lights were installed along the pathway from Katanning Street through to the play space area and new lighting towers were installed over the barbeque area and boat ramp.
