What is the youth consultation?

The City of Bayswater is undertaking community engagement to inform youth planning across the next five years. This will involve consultation with young people aged 12-25, parents/caregivers, and a range of internal and external stakeholders to better understand the needs and aspirations of young people in the City of Bayswater.

Traditional community consultation usually involves attending 'town hall' meetings or providing written submissions to Council. This can often be time-consuming, inconvenient, and intimidating to young people. However, this online survey gives you the opportunity to have your say on issues that are important to you at a time and place of your choice.

The City of Bayswater will also work with the City’s Youth Advisory Council, local schools, and community organisations to coordinate pop-up events and workshops to hear the views of young people. The feedback we receive will provide a framework and direction for the next five years.

What are the expected outcomes of the consultation?

The consultation will help the City of Bayswater understand the needs and aspirations of young people aged 12-25 in the City of Bayswater. Once the consultation process is complete, the data and feedback provided will be analysed and interpreted. The findings will inform youth planning for the next five years, and provide a strategic approach and framework for youth development initiatives.

The youth planning will form the basis for future initiatives and programs benefiting young people aged 12-25.
