Review of Local Laws
The City has undertaken a statutory review of the Local Government Property Local Law 2016, the Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2016, and the Dog Local Law 2016.
As part of the review, the public had the opportunity to lodge a submission to the City about the current content of the local laws. Submissions were then collated, summarised and presented to the Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting of 24 September 2024, and the Council determined to undertake a formal review of each of the three local laws. Please refer to the meeting minutes for a summary of submissions received.
Next Steps
A further report on each of these local laws will be presented to Council in late 2024/2025, which will include a proposed draft of each local law incorporating initial comments received from submissions and internal stakeholders. Following this, the public will have an opportunity to have a say on the proposed draft local laws. More information is available about each of the reviews at the following pages:
