The City is reviewing its Community Engagement Framework to make sure we’re engaging with our community on activities and projects in the most meaningful way.

What is the Community Engagement Framework?

The framework ensures the City provides quality engagement with our community and stakeholders. It includes the Community Engagement Policy, Community Engagement Strategy and a toolkit for staff, including guidelines and templates.

The Framework was developed in 2016 and needs to be reviewed to ensure it is up-to-date, aligned with best practice, supports the objectives of the Strategic Community Plan and reflects the community's expectations.

Community engagement is planned, two-way information sharing with the purpose of working with the community and stakeholders to make decisions. The City's approach is aligned with the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) best practice principles. 

Community engagement is often referred to as consultation or public participation.

社区参与是有计划的，双向信息共享，目的是与社区和利益相关者共同合作制定决策。贝斯沃特市采用的方法与国际公众参与协会(IAP2)的最佳实践原则保持一致。
