Child Care Premises Draft Policy Submission Form

The draft policy contains development requirements for child care premises so that the design and location of new centres ensures the health and safety of children, and maintains the amenity of the surrounding neighbourhoods. The policy considers:

• Characteristics for suitable locations for child care premises;
• Building design;
• Traffic, access and car parking;
• Need for management plans and independent assessments (such as acoustic and traffic), and
• Potential for family day cares to be exempt from development approval.
