The City has prepared a Structure Plan for the Bayswater town centre to provide a framework for the future development and revitalisation of the town centre.
NEXT STEPS
Thank you to those people who provided a submission on the draft Bayswater Town Centre Structure Plan; the consultation period has now closed. The City has considered all of the submissions received and presented the submissions, along with any recommended modifications to the Structure Plan to Council for consideration.
The Planning and Development Committee, at a meeting held on 8 May 2018, decided to adopt the structure plan with modifications.
The structure plan documentation and modifications are now with the Western Australia Planning Commission (WAPC) for final endorsement.
Bayswater Station Upgrade
Bayswater Station is destined to become an important transport hub with both the Forrestfield-Airport Link and the proposed Morley-Ellenbrook rail line connecting to Perth's rail network at Bayswater. It has also influenced the Bayswater Town Centre Structure Plan.
Consultation on the State Government's planned major upgrade for the station is underway. The consultation commenced with two drop in sessions for the community and an online survey during 2018. METRONET also consulted with the Bayswater Community Advisory Group (CAG) on the concept design for the station precinct. Further consultation will occur during the course of 2019 to finalise the detail design of the Bayswater Train Station. METRONET is currently asking for expressions of interest from community members interested in being involved in the Bayswater CAG.
