Riverside Gardens Play Space Renewal
PROJECT UPDATE
At its Ordinary Meeting of Tuesday 23 June 2026, Council endorsed an additional $90,000 for the Riverside Gardens Play Space Renewal project via Public Open Space funding. View the minutes of the meeting here.
The design and construction contract for this project was awarded to PHASE3 Landscaping, who the City is now working with to finalise the design.
PROJECT BACKGROUND
Riverside Gardens in Bayswater is a much-loved regional park, drawing visitors from all over the City and beyond. Now approaching the end of its life, the existing play space will be replaced with an estimated project completion of early 2027. The renewal forms part of the City's Play Space Redevelopment Program.
While the renewed play space will remain in the dog on-lead exercise area and be similar in size, it will offer a refreshed, more inclusive and engaging experience for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy.
