PrideFest in Bayswater 2021 - Rainbow Poll
Consultation has concluded
The City of Bayswater is proudly celebrated its diversity with a series of LGBTQI+ community events, as part of Pride WA’s annual PrideFEST celebrations throughout the month of November.
We recognise the City of Bayswater is a diverse community and the City’s support of Pride WA highlights its commitment to being inclusive.
We asked the community to provide their thoughts and ideas on how the City could be supporting the LGBTQIA community and how we can become a more inclusive City in the future.
Opportunities for engagement were open from Friday 12 - Monday 29 November 2021.
Thank you to everyone that provided their input, we were overwhelmed by the number of people that took their time to speak to us at the fair and to contribute online.

Expanding access to support and events
Having a bathroom without gender designations, that isn't a disabled bathroom, as an option would be lovely for gender diverse people at your buildings and public spaces. It would also be nice to see support groups and events for lgbtqi+ people of all ages, as there are very few opportunities around, especially for people who come out or are thinking about coming out as adults. Indeed, there are many non-youth in the community who did not receive any lgbtqi+ education or support in their youth that would really appreciate it.

Supporting Stickers
Create an rainbow friendly sticker so business can chose whether to place them on their window so the community can be made aware that the store that they are entering is LGBTQI+ friendly.

LGBTIQ is not just YOUTH
Consider discounting venue hire or services for LGBTIQ community members so they have a safe place to connect and socialise.

Under 21 drop in centre for the LGBTQI+ youth.
Drop in centre for under 21's this could be located close to the bus terminal at the Galleria. A place teens could come and drop in before or after school, and have a safe zone. This could open the possibilities to lots of things.
