Consultation has concluded

The Our Park, Our Place project is a collaborative project between the City of Bayswater, Greening Australia, The Behaviour Change Collaborative and Lotterywest. The project aims to reconnect people with nature in their neighbourhood and has a strong focus on working together with local governments in some of Perth’s most heat-stressed council areas. One park (on the traditional lands of the Noongar people) has been chosen in each of the local government areas of Bassendean, Bayswater and Canning. At each of these parks we will work with local residents to create cool green places through introducing more trees plantings to enhance existing green spaces.

In the City of Bayswater, Arbor Park in Morley has been chosen as the park for this project as it is a popular place to walk, play and exercise; and also has approximately 5ha of remnant bushland. It is a great place for people to interact with nature close to their home, and also provides important habitat for many plant and animal species.

Please visit the Greening Australia Our Park, Our Place project website for more information about the project overall.

Community Engagement

Community consultation for the design phase has now closed and we thank you for your participation in the initial phase of the project. You can view the design, along with the community input report, in the menu to the right.

During an open day held in October 2020 the approximately 170 participants were given the opportunity to indicate what type of workshops they would like to see run.

Workshops and Planting Days

Over the course of the next year, and based on community feedback, there will be a number of workshops, planting days and events held at Arbor Park as we work with the community to implement the concept design for Arbor park.

Please stay tuned to hear about the topics and dates where you can learn more about the unique WA environment and how to create a greener and more connected neighbourhood. Please subscribe by entering your email address in the follow project tab to the right.

We look forward to seeing you in the park!
