Noranda Town Centre Road Upgrades

Consultation has concluded

In response to Noranda's Place Activation Plan, the City is planning a major upgrade to the road and pedestrian environment on McGilvray Avenue (between 72 McGilvray Avenue and roundabout) and Benara road (between 40 Benara road and roundabout).

The project aim is to transform the town centre pedestrian and vehicle environment through road resurfacing, traffic calming strategies (such as large medians for street trees to narrow the roads), and improvement to the pedestrian environment with new pedestrian crossings and footpaths.

The City of Bayswater carried out a series of community engagement (workshops and online survey) in November-December. A summary of engagement results are within the Engagement Report.

We received some valuable feedback from community members (over 300 people) which has helped inform the next steps for this project.

A further update will be sent in February 2020 once we have clarity on the direction for both McGilvray Avenue and Benara Road concepts.

    Survey – Noranda Town Centre Road Upgrades

    We invite you to participate in a survey on the proposed Noranda Town Centre Road Upgrades.

    The project is an upgrade to parts of Noranda Town Centre’s roads, including McGilvray Avenue (between 72 McGilvray Avenue and roundabout) and Benara Road (between 40 Benara road and roundabout). The project includes an upgrade to the pedestrian environment around the roads, including new footpaths and crossings.

    The purpose of the survey is to seek feedback from Noranda residents, businesses, property owners and visitors on some of the key aspects of the draft concept, including the tree species.

    The survey is expected to take approximately five minutes to complete and will close on Tuesday 10 December at 5:00pm.  The survey results will be collated to inform the final Plan and further implementation, available on Engage Bayswater.
