A road reserve is an area of land that contains the physical road formation as well as any relevant public services.
Why did the City purchase the land?
Morley is one of the most significant strategic centres outside the Perth CBD. The City has a planning framework to support the growth of the Morley Activity Centre as a bustling shopping and business centre serving the north-eastern metropolitan region. Due to its proximity to the Les Hansman Community Centre, the City views this land to be of strategic importance for the future of Morley.
Will the carpark be closed?
No, the area will remain open as a car park and thoroughfare, including during the 35 day advertising period.

The City has no current plans for the land and it will remain open as a car park and thoroughfare.
Are there any confirmed future plans for the land?
The City has no current plans for the land. The land would need to be re-zoned before the site could be redeveloped. The community will be given an opportunity to have their say on any future development plans.
