Halliday Park Draft Heritage Significance Classification

Consultation has concluded

Current Project Status Out For Comment

Issue for Comment The City's appointed consultants, Hocking Heritage Studio, undertook the heritage significance review and associated community consultation. Based on the preliminary feedback from the community and their assessment of the park, the heritage consultants have developed a draft heritage significance report.

The report recommends the following:

  • Halliday Park's management category be raised from a classification 5 place to a classification 2 place (excluding the clubrooms and surrounding 3m curtilage). The draft revised amended record form is available here.
  • Bayswater War Memorial and Grace Hardie Rose Gardens management category be raised from a classification 5 place to a classification 2 place. The draft revised amended record form is available here.
  • The Scheme Heritage List be amended to include Halliday Park and the Bayswater War Memorial and Grace Hardie Rose Gardens.

Accordingly any removal of or significant modification (other than maintenance or pruning) to mature trees will require Council approval.

The City is seeking comment on the draft heritage significance report and proposed modifications to the classification of the places.
