Grand Promenade Reserve - Toilet Block Landscaping

Consultation has concluded

Background

Grand Promenade Reserve is an active sporting ground that caters for soccer, cricket, basketball, netball and lawn bowls. It features a children's playground, cricket nets, flood lighting for night time sports games, change room facilities and car parking. An Exeloo is also located on site.

Why is the City upgrading this portion of the park?

The Exeloo has been identified within the City's replacement program and quotes for a new public toilet have been sourced.

In an effort to address damaging irrigation overspray on the building a draft landscaping concept design has been created. The proposed plan focusses on repurposing the existing area around the public toilet with concrete connective paths, gravel garden path, bench seat, native planting, eco-zoning and additional new trees.

Community engagement

The community were invited to give feedback on the proposal by completing the survey below. The submission period is now closed; we received 21 responses. We would like to genuinely thank everyone for their contributions.

Construction

During construction, the closest public toilet available is located at Beaufort Park, corner of Beaufort Street and Drummond Street.
Construction began 18th July 2022 and was completed late October 2022.

Update - Project complete
The Grand Promenade Reserve Toilet Block and adjoining paths are now complete. The Universal Accessible Toilet is open to the public.
