FAQs
Will the carpark be upgraded as part of the redevelopment?
No. The carpark is not budgeted for as part of the proposed landscaping concept. However there might be opportunity to investigate parking option in the future.
What is eco-zoning?
Is where the existing turf (grass) will be removed and replaced with mulch.
The benefits of eco-zoning include water savings, a decrease in the use of chemical spraying as a result of weed suppression, and enhanced growth of native plantings such as shrubs and saplings to increase the tree canopy.
More information on eco-zoning can be found on the City's website here.
What type of new trees will be planted in the landscaped area?
Tree species selection in Bayswater is currently guided by the Tree Planting Guideline. Because the space is already contained and surrounded by other trees, the area may suit a more ornamental range of medium-sized native trees. See page 10 of the Parks and Gardens Tree Planting Palette for 66 tree species listed for use in CoB Parks and Gardens.
