Economic Development Strategy

The City of Bayswater is planning a new Economic Development Strategy and is seeking feedback on the opportunities and challenges facing the local business community.

Project Details

In 2022, the City of Bayswater adopted its Interim Economic Development Strategy to transition, after the COVID-19 pandemic, from economic recovery to an investment and growth approach. It is now time to take a longer-term approach.

The new Economic Development Strategy will aim to support our diverse range of local businesses and to be responsive to changes as they arise. Your feedback has helped us identify priorities.

The Economic Development Strategy will align with the City's Corporate Business Plan and Strategic Community Plan.

Community Engagement

The City undertook preliminary community engagement via online and hard copy surveys, and four workshops. Submissions closed on 4pm, Monday 11 November 2024. The engagement outcomes report can be found here.

What's Next

A draft Economic Development Strategy has been prepared based on the community engagement outcomes, and will be considered for support for formal advertising at the Ordinary Council Meeting to be held Tuesday 26 August 2025. The meeting agenda will be available from Friday 15 August 2025 and can be downloaded here.
