Economic Development Strategy

Project Update

On 9 December 2025, Council adopted the City of Bayswater’s new Economic Development Strategy 2025 – 2035 which sets the direction for the next decade to:

  • Attract new investment
  • Support local businesses
  • Create more jobs for the community

Project Details

The City undertook preliminary community engagement via online and hard copy surveys, and four workshops. The new Economic Development Strategy will aim to support our diverse range of local businesses and to be responsive to changes as they arise. Your feedback has helped us identify priorities and your participation was much appreciated. The engagement outcomes report can be found here.

The draft Economic Development Strategy was prepared with input from business and community engagement. It was presented to Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 26 August 2025 where it approved the draft Economic Development Strategy to be advertised for community comment, with minor amendments, and that following this would be referred to Council for further consideration. The meeting minutes and the report can be downloaded here.

The Economic Development Strategy will align with the City's Corporate Business Plan and Strategic Community Plan.
