Who can use the bike path?
The bike path is available to pedestrians, bike-riders and scooters
Will cyclists have right of way when I'm reversing out of my driveway?
As is currently the case, when reversing out of a driveway you must give way to any traffic on the road and any pedestrians or bicycle riders on the shared path before you back out.
What kind of speeds should I expect?
The speed limits for bikes and scooters are 10 km/h or less on footpaths and 25 km/h or less on shared paths
Where do I put my bin out on bin days?
Rubbish bins can be put on the cycle path at the kerb on designated collection days. Cyclists and pedestrians will be required to go around these bins.
Will I be able to park my car on my verge?
You can park on the non-path section of the verge. You will not be permitted to park on any path. This is different to bins where the only option is adjacent to the kerb due to the garbage truck access.
Will the speed limit on Drake Street change after the bike path is installed?
There will be no change to the speed limit in the affected streets after construction is complete.
How will parking at Lower Hillcrest Reserve be affected?
We are creating five additional parking bays at Lower Hillcrest Reserve. The additional bays will be located on Drake Street
