Construction FAQs

    What is a crossover?

A crossover is the section of your driveway between the property boundary and the road (including any footpath) that allows vehicles to access the property.

What will happen to my crossover and driveway?

The bike path will continue  through the crossover of your property. This includes colour and marking of the bike path and will therefore be distinguishable from your crossover (driveway) Any damage to your crossover or driveway will be reinstated to an “as-before” condition.

How much of my driveway are you going to re-build?

Only where it has been removed during path construction and possibly a short joining length dependent on the driveway slope.

Will I still have normal access to the street while construction is happening?

Residents and other stakeholders will continue to have access to their street. However, those residents with the path on their verge will have a time (say 24 hours), when immediate vehicle access to a property is not available e.g. when the path and/or the crossover has just been laid in concrete.

Residents will be advised in advance of when this will happen.

How will construction impact school parking and kiss-and-ride facilities?

No, the parking at the school will not change. The path in the school section will be replaced with a red asphalt shared path. All works will be attempted to be complete outside of school access times.
