THE CITY of Bayswater’s community consultation program, to develop a ten year Strategic Community Plan, has started with the City gaining valuable insight into the views of Maylands residents.
In Maylands around 40 residents attended a community meeting, at The RISE last Wednesday night, and Mayor Terry Kenyon said there were a number of common themes running through the meeting.
“The turnout was really encouraging and the feedback we received was great,” he said. “It was a very productive meeting and we captured a clear view of what people in Maylands like about their suburb, and also what they would like the City to focus on in the future.”
The City has organised ten community forums over the coming weeks to consult with residents on the services they want to receive from the City over the next decade. For details email brightfutures@bayswater.wa.gov.au or call 9272 0622.
The City of Bayswater is undertaking the biggest community consultation program in the municipality's history in an effort to shape the future of the City.
"It's the biggest consultation we've ever done," Mayor terry Kenyon said. "To serve the community, you have to know what they want and we've got a lot of residents we don't hear from, so this will give them an opportunity to tell us what they want Bayswater to become over the next ten years."
The community have a chance to have their say at community meetings, listening booths, logging onto our Bayswater Bright Futures website or filling in a paper leaf and hanging it on a Listening Tree at the RISE, Bayswater Library, Morley Library, the Civic Centre or Bayswater Waves.
