What is the amendment?

It was proposed to amend the City's Town Planning Scheme No. 24 by inserting the following new clause 8.3.9.5:

"8.3.9.5 Development approval is required prior to the removal, destruction and/or interference with any tree included on the City of Bayswater heritage list or significant tree register."

The Minister granted final approval to Amendment No. 86 on 28 February 2024, with amendments, and was published in the government gazette on Friday 15 March 2024.

What is happening now?

The scheme amendment was advertised for public comment in May 2020.

In light of the feedback received from the advertising period, the City prepared the Significant Tree Register policy and associated guidelines to respond to the comments before finalising the scheme amendment.
