FAQs
When will planting works take place?
The first stage of our winter planting is scheduled for June 2026. To ensure the new ecozones establish successfully and thrive, subsequent plantings will follow throughout 2027.
What plants will be planted in 2026?
A total of 750 plants will be planted in 2026, including a mix of waterwise endemic and Australian native species. These will help boost local biodiversity by providing habitat for wildlife, while significantly increasing the amenity value of the reserve for community to enjoy. Will the park be closed while improvements are carried out?
No, the park will remain open, though some small diversions may be in place when works are occuring.
Will path improvements be provided as part of the planting in 2026?
Path improvements will be delivered separately to the winter planting program. The City is currently exploring options to maximise accessibility, minimise root disturbance all while maintaining clear access for users to access park assets.
These works will be delivered within the 26/27 financial year.
