The new Maylands Waterland is now open to the public.

Maylands Waterland is a much-loved water facility that was constructed in the 1970s. Due to its ageing infrastructure, the City is redeveloping the facility to deliver a new water playground, with stage one due to be completed by June 2022.

The City engaged Josh Byrne and Associates to design the new facility, which will be delivered in two stages. The concept plans are based on previous feedback from the community and input from the Maylands Waterland Working Group.

The concept plans are available for viewing in the Image and Document libraries and further information about the project, and the staged approach, is contained in the Frequently Asked Questions.

An external pathway around the southern section of Maylands Waterland has been completed, complemented by native planting along the riverbank.

Stage one will include:

  • Wading pool
  • Zero depth water play pad (splash pad)
  • BBQ and picnic facilities
  • New accessible toilets and change rooms
  • Area to support mobile catering
  • Perimeter fencing
  • Native Planting
