York Reserve Play Space Renewal
BACKGROUND
York Reserve in Bedford is a well-loved pocket park that provides valuable recreation and play opportunities for the local community.
The existing playground is approaching the end of its service life, and the City is planning ahead for its future renewal. Through this early engagement process, we are seeking community feedback to help shape a future play space.
Subject to future budget approvals, the renewal will focus on the existing playground area.
WHAT'S HAPPENING?
We're planning the future of play at York Reserve.
The renewed playground will introduce new play opportunities within the existing play spaces, informed by community feedback. Potential features may include swings, climbing elements and other play experiences that reflect local needs and preferences.
The renewal will focus on the existing playground areas.
The site has limited natural shade. Shade sails over the play equipment are proposed to provide sun protection and improve comfort for park users.
You can view the site plan to see the location of the proposed playground renewal.
COMMUNITY INPUT
We want to hear from you.
Your feedback will help us understand:
- How you use the park
- How often you visit
- The ages of playground users
- How far you travel to the park
- The types of play experiences and equipment you value
- What supporting infrastructure would improve your visit
Your input will help inform the future design of the playground.
Please complete the survey below by 4pm on 11 October 2026.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Following the close of the engagement period, the City will review all feedback received and prepare an Engagement Summary Report.
Project updates and key milestones will be shared on this page as the project progresses.
