What is Public Art?
Public art is created by a professional practicing artist intended to be located in and/or clearly seen from the public realm. Contemporary works of public art take a variety of forms including long lasting sculptures and monuments as well as works that have a temporary presence.
Is there budget for the inclusion of Public Art?
The Precent for Public Art Policy provides for a consideration of 1% public art contribution where a development exceeds $1million. In this instance, 1% equates to $25,000.
Can the large concrete wall facing Wotton Reserve be used for public art?
No. The neighbouring business owning the large concrete wall has indicated that they do not support any artwork being developed on the adjoining wall at this point in time.
