Waltham Reserve, Morley

Consultation has concluded

Waltham Reserve is located on Waltham Way in Morley. There are several parks within walking distance in this area, including a mix of Sporting spaces and small Local parks. Waltham Reserve is classified as a Neighbourhood level park. It is mainly used for sporting activities and play by surrounding local residents for short to medium length visits. The play space at Waltham Reserve is located in the southeast corner (see picture).

The City has developed a Parks and Play Space Classification Hierarchy to inform and guide play space redevelopments. For your reference, this can be found in the Document Library to the right of the page.

Redevelopment of the play space

The play equipment at Waltham Reserve is due for replacement and we are taking the opportunity to redevelop the play space. We would like to know how the community uses the space and their ideas for improvement. This may include basic play elements, seating and other types of park infrastructure, depending on community feedback and subject to available resources.

The budget for this project is $50,000.

Community Engagement update

The City received 2 completed surveys during the final stage of community consultation in relation to Waltham Reserve playground replacement. The information collected from the community engagement process then assisted the City to develop a final concept design based on a nature based style of play equipment.

Considering community engagement feedback from both phase 1 & 2, the equipment has been made suitable for children aged between 0 – 4 years. A swing component still allows for older children to enjoy the redeveloped space.

Thank you for all your feedback. The City values your input and it helps us make an informed decision based on community preferences.

What's next?

The final design has been developed and is available to view in the Photo Gallery to the right of the page.

The new play equipment has been installed. The park is open.
