Consultation has concluded

Stanbury Reserve is a 'Pocket park' located on the corner of Stanbury Crescent and Crimea St in Morley. The existing play equipment has reached the end of its useful life, so we are asking the surrounding community how they would like to see it redeveloped.

How will the play space be redeveloped?

The City has developed a Parks and Play Space Classification Hierarchy to inform and guide redevelopments, which can be downloaded from the Document Library to the right of this page.

According to the hierarchy, a 'Pocket park' is generally used by residents living close by for short visits. Pocket parks may or may not contain play equipment and might be used for exercise, rest or relaxation and dog exercise, depending on whether it is deemed an off leash dog exercise area according to the local law. Stanbury Reserve is an on-leash reserve. Further information on dog exercise areas can be found on the City's website here.

The budget for this project is $50,000. Out of this budget, the City will install seating, accessible pathways and shade (either natural or shelter/sail). The type of play equipment and/or additional park infrastructure will be determined by community feedback and subject to budget availability.

How can I get involved?

Engagement for this project has now closed. Thank you to everybody who contributed feedback. An outcomes report from the first phase of the engagement period can be viewed by clicking here, or by visiting the Document Library. Based on this feedback, we have put together a concept plan for the play space redevelopment. This plan is available to view in the Document Library to the right of the page, or by clicking here.

What's next?

We did not receive any feedback in response to the concept plan; however, based on the first phase of engagement results we progressed with the concept. The park redevelopment is now complete and open for community enjoyment.

Where can I find more information?

The City's Play Space Strategy outlines the City's approach to planning, design and management of play spaces, including the Play Space Redevelopment Program. This document is available in the Document Library to the right of the page. Alternatively please give us a call at the City on the details in 'Who's Listening' at the top of the page.
