Why does the City want to name the ROW?

The ROW has a number of property's whose primary access is via the ROW, and the proposed naming will help ensure that they can direct people more easily to access their property.

Does this mean the ROW will now become a public road?

No, naming the ROW does not make it a dedicate road. The ROW will continue to remain in the City's ownership and landowners will not be able to change their address to the ROW.

Where did the names 'Oblong Lane', 'Bartlett Lane' and 'Grace/Grace Hardie Lane' come from?

All three names were chosen from the City's Name Register, which contain a list of people, businesses, flora and fauna and Noongah names, that have been endorsed by Council. Further information on each name can found under the 'What is behind the names Oblong, Bartlett and Grace Hardie section.

Will the naming of the ROW affect my current street name?

No, if you are located along Neville Street, Milne Street and Roberts Street, Bayswater, your address will not be affected by the naming of this ROW.

I don't live near the ROW, can I still vote on a name?

Yes, all residents regardless of where they live in the City of Bayswater are encouraged to complete the survey.

Why are you not naming the ROW section parallel to Guildford Road, Bayswater?

The portion of ROW parallel to Guildford Road (between Milne Street and Roberts Street) is part of a larger ROW in the neighbouring block bordered by Guildford Road, Crowther Street, Mine Street and Williamson Street, Bayswater. As per Landgate's request, that portion of ROW should be treated as one continuously ROW across multiple blocks and should be named separately.
