Proposed Renaming of 'The Strand Reserve' to 'Nellie Tant Reserve'

The City of Bayswater has approved a proposal to rename The Strand Reserve to Nellie Tant Reserve in commemoration of the achievements of Ms. Nellie Fawdrey Tant, who was elected to the Bayswater Road Board on 9 April 1921, making her the first woman to be elected to a Road Board in Western Australia. The Strand Reserve has been selected for formal naming, as its current name is not official and is not recognised by Landgate's Geographic Names Committee.
