Proposed 40km/hr Speed Zone - Mount Lawley

Consultation has concluded

Background

The City is seeking to implement a 40km/hr speed zone in Mount Lawley, in the area surrounding St John of God hospital. The affected streets are Stanley Street, Mitchell Street, Ellesmere Road and Thirlmere Road. The expected benefits of reducing the speed limit from 50km/hr to 40km/hr are to:

  • Provide a safer road environment for pedestrians and cyclists on these local roads that service both residential properties and the hospital, and
  • Reduce the likelihood and severity of crashes.
