Payment in Lieu of Parking Plan
Background
Council, at its Ordinary Council meeting on 6 December 2022, adopted for public advertising the draft Payment in Lieu of Parking Plan.
The Payment in Lieu of Parking Plan outlines the purposes for which the payment in lieu of car parking will be used and how the funds collected will be administered and is required for the associated Payment in Lieu of Car Parking Policy to be applied within the City.
Objectives of the Plan are:
To have a consistent application of payments in lieu of parking bays;
To identify car parking areas under pressure from high demand ('hot spots');
To provide a more effective use of the parking supply in town/activity centres; and
To support an integrated approach to transport and parking management within the town/activity centres which balances provision for cars with the requirements of other modes of transport.
