Naming of ROW Bordered by Foyle Rd, Catt Crt, Drake St and Cantlebury Rd

Consultation has concluded

The City is seeking input from the community on the proposed naming of the right-of-way (ROW) bordered by Foyle Road, Catt Court, Drake Street and Cantlebury Road, Bayswater.

Background

In September 2024, the City received a request from a resident located along the ROW asking that the City investigate formally naming the currently unnamed ROW to assist with locating the ROW. At the April 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM), the City presented three names from the City's Name Register, 'Hoppy Lane', 'Stokeld Lane' and 'Brushbox Lane' where Council endorsed all three names for public comment.

To find out more about these names, please see click here.

How to get involved in choosing the laneway name

The City is asking the public to provide their name preference in the following ways:

  • Complete the online survey below;
  • Request a hard copy survey by contacting manon.arnold@bayswater.wa.gov.au or visit one of the City's libraries;
  • Email comments to mail@bayswater.wa.gov.au or;
  • Provide comments via post to the Chief Executive Officer, City of Bayswater, PO Box 467, Morley WA 6943.

What's next?

Submissions and comments will be reviewed, and City Officers will present a report to Council. Council has the opportunity to:

  • Proceed with the name 'Hoppy Lane',
  • Proceed with the name 'Stokeld Lane',
  • Proceed with the name 'Brushbox Lane', or;
  • Consider naming alternatives for the ROW.

Following the results from community consultation, should Council resolve to name the ROW either 'Hoppy Lane', 'Stokeld Lane' 'Brushbox Lane' or an alternative name, the City will forward the request to Landgate for final review and approval.

The survey has now closed. A report on the naming which will include all submissions received will be presented to Council at an upcoming Ordinary Council Meeting.
