Movement on Maylands Waterland Redevelopment

Maylands Waterland is starting to take shape and will soon be ready for the community to enjoy, with some of the main facilities now in place at the much-loved community water park.

Between January and March, play equipment and water play elements will be added to the space, with splash pad concreting for the pool areas currently being laid.

All the underground pipework and services have been installed and construction of the water treatment filtration room is underway, scheduled to be completed in March.

The external pathway around the southern section is open for community use, complemented by native planting along the riverbank.

Once complete, stage one of the redeveloped water playground will include a variety of family-friendly water play elements such as a water creek, wading pool and splash pad. Inspired by local native flora and fauna, it will also feature access for all abilities, plenty of shade and links to the river foreshore.

Stage two of the Maylands Waterland redevelopment plans to incorporate a deep water pool, public toilet refurbishment and existing foreshore play space replacement, and will be subject to the availability of future funding.

Subject to water quality testing, Maylands Waterland is scheduled to open to the public in June 2022.
