Background

Hillcrest Reserve is a District sporting reserve located on Coode St in Bayswater, comprising Upper and Lower Hillcrest ovals that are used for organised sport - Australian Rules Football and cricket. It is also a popular reserve for dog exercise, play and fitness.

The current play equipment located at Lower Hillcrest, on the corner of Drake St and Evans Place, has reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced in the coming months.

A second play space is located at Upper Hillcrest Reserve, near the clubrooms. This play space will remain.

How will the play space at Lower Hillcrest be redeveloped?

The budget for this project is $60,000. The play space will include new equipment, trees planted for additional shade and seating, including a picnic table.

The engagement period is now closed, we would like to thank all participants for providing feedback via the engage page and survey. Considering the feedback received, the City of Bayswater selected a combination of nature / ninja play equipment. The Concept Plan can be viewed in the document library.

New Play Space

The popular Lower Hillcrest Reserve now features a new nature / ninja style playground, picnic area and native trees, offering an improved area for families to play, relax and picnic.

The existing play equipment was replaced with a brand new playground consisting of a swing set, monkey bars, a climbing frame, a tunnel and several balancing structures.

In addition to the new play equipment, native trees were planted to enhance biodiversity and provide added shade to the area.
