Consultation has concluded

Background

The City has negotiated the acquisition of a 5,250m2 portion of land adjacent to the Les Hansman Community Centre from the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage. The land is currently a road reserve and is used as a carpark by visitors to the Morley Activity Centre, specifically Morley Library and Morley Markets. It is also a thoroughfare/ two-way access from Walter Road West to Bishop Street.

To formally acquire and transfer the land, 'closure' of the road is required. As per the Land Administration Act 1997, the City must first advertise its intention to permanently 'close' the road and invite comments for a period of 35 days.

Please note: The City has no current plans for the land and it will be open to the public as a car park and thoroughfare, including during the 35 day advertising period.
