Gus Weimar Park
Consultation has concluded
Gus Weimar Park is a Local park located on the corner of Wheatstone Drive and Aerial Place in Morley. The existing play equipment has reached the end of its useful life, so we are asking the surrounding community how they would like to see it redeveloped.
How will the play space be redeveloped?
The City has developed a Parks and Play Space Classification Hierarchy to inform and guide redevelopments, which can be downloaded from the Document Library to the right of this page.
A Local park is generally used by residents living close by for short visits. Local parks usually contain basic play equipment and might be used for exercise, rest or relaxation and dog exercise, depending on whether it is deemed an off leash dog exercise area according to the local law. Gus Weimar Park is an on-leash reserve. Further information on dog exercise areas can be found on the City's website here.
The budget for this project is $65,000. Out of this budget, the City will install seating, accessible pathways and shade (either natural or shelter/sail). The type of play equipment and/or additional park infrastructure will be determined by community feedback and subject to budget availability.
How can I get involved?
Engagement for this project has now closed. Thank you to everybody who contributed their feedback. A report of feedback from the first phase of the engagement period can be viewed by clicking here, or by visiting the Document Library. Based on this feedback, we drafted a concept plan for the play space redevelopment. This plan is available to view in the Document Library to the right of the page, or by clicking here.
What's next?
We received limited feedback in response to the concept plan; however, based on those comments we progressed with the concept. Tthe park and play equipment is open for the enjoyment of the community.
