Works commence at Tranby and Bath Street Reserves

Works

Smoking Ceremony to commence worksWorks have commenced within the immediate river shoreline area. Natural Area Consulting Management Services has been appointed to undertake works that will primarily focus on stabilising and restoring the immediate riverbank and foreshore, and include:
  • Erosion control treatments such as rock protection, brush walling and log palisades
  • Construction of timber retaining walls
  • Earthworks (cut to fill) to reshape and stabilise banks and slopes
  • Native planting, weed control and the installation of establishment irrigation.

Selective thinning of non-native tree species has occurred to enable new native planting.

Silt curtains will be in place throughout the works to protect the river

  • Northern section (from Bath Street Jetty): Works will occur on the river side of the shared path within a fenced area later in the project.
