Consultation has concluded

Claughton Reserve is located on the Swan river at the end of Katanning St in Bayswater. The reserve is used for launching water craft into the river; is the home of the famous ‘turtle toilet’ and features a recently redeveloped nature style play space.

In response to community requests, the City is planning to install passive lighting and exercise equipment at Claughton Reserve.

Community Input

The City sought feedback from the community, along with technical advice in determining the type, amount and location in which the passive lights and exercise equipment are to be installed. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback the engagement outcomes report can be found here.

Main themes showed:

  • Majority of respondents were in favour with the general location of the exercise equipment.
  • A combination of both light tower and bollard lighting was the preference to be installed throughout Zone one, two and three at Claughton Reserve.
  • Landscaping works will take place at the boat ramp light tower to improve the existing infrastructure.
