The City of Bayswater has partnered with the Department of Transport to establish the Bayswater to Morley Bike Boulevard.

Stage 1 of the bike boulevard - Leake Street and May Street - was officially opened in September 2017 and runs from the river across the railway line to Adelphi Street.

This page has been established to act as an information portal for the project and to provide a place for local residents and stakeholders to provide constructive feedback on this new initiative.

THANK YOU to everyone who has provided feedback on Stage one of the bike boulevard since it opened - your input is very much appreciated.

The information has been collated and shared with the Department of Transport. This will contribute to the evaluation of the pilot project.

For information on the bike boulevard, including Fact Sheets and a 'How To' Guide, please visit the document library.

Please direct any enquiries or further feedback to Ben Lee, Engineer on 9272 0652 or at mail@bayswater.wa.gov.au.

Hi, I fully support the bike boulevards as do my family. This will enable our family to ride safely to the river, to the trainline cycle path and to Bayswater Primary School where my 5y/old attends. Id encourage the placement of additional 30km/h signs (especially at intersecting side streets as there are none) and would also encourage the extensions/additions of the boulevards. Currently a little dis-jointed but this will be improved with additional works.

I'd like someone to sit on my front veranda during afternoon peak hour and watch the near misses and cars doing 50-70 Kay's an hour!
Pretty soon someone is going to get very hurt!!

Despite a good concept, Leake street is bemusing. Possibly dangerous. Ive seen cyclists stop for cars. Cars stop for cyclists. Cars stop for cars. No obvious road priority. The trees planted in the road are protected with black bollards. One refector on each as the only night time indication (how long until they degrade/fall off?). The trees are a distraction and will soon obstruct vision. It's all completely bemusing. Yes, feedback is going into council.

Great idea overall, although it would've made more sense if the signalised crossing on Guildford Road was aligned on Leake St itself rather than on Roberts St! I wonder how that error got through the approval process.

Waste of money and confusing

It's a joke right, please don't make any more of these stupid roads that cause more trouble that it helps.

It's ridiculous, pointless and a waste of money. It turns a normal street into a confusing one way type street with parking. You know there are more that just cyclists living in this suburb, can't you think of other ways to waste money than this monstrosity.
