What was amended?

The scheme amendment proposed to rezone Lots 1 and 66, 10 Burnett Street, Embleton from 'Public Purposes (Religious Institution)' (Lot 1) and No Zone (Lot 66) to 'Residential R50' to accommodate the future developed of the site as a retirement village.


Current project status:

Council resolved to recommend to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) and the Minister for Planning at their Ordinary Council Meeting dated 25 August 2020 to approve the scheme amendment - Item 10.4.6: https://www.bayswater.wa.gov.au/city-and-council/council/council-meetings/agendas-and-minutes/2020/august/ordinary-council-meeting-minutes-25-august-2020

The scheme amendment was subsequently approved by the WAPC (see documents section) and has now been gazetted.
